We loved our breakfast on our little deck. The closeness to the rice paddies and the centre of Ubud. The bed...it was so big and comfortable...great sleep!
If I was really pushed to be negative it would have to be the pool. Set right in front of one of the villas made you feel odd using it.
Clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staffs and good location. almost perfect.
I cann't find it.
The quiet location. Close enough to walk into Ubud easily. Lovely view from balconies of rooms across rice paddy. Peaceful location. Small hotel. The rooms were very clean, spacious. All fittings worked well. Rooms were lovely and airy and could be modified for light and air.
For me, the bed was too hard, which can be a common thing. Beds were of decent quality, but I like soft top layer for resting body.
The design of the house, the proximity of a rice field with dirty ducks, the pretty good location, 10 mins walk to Ubud Palace, the nice small pool.
The architecture of the house allowed geckos to come in and during the night we couldn't sleep due to their loud sounds. Worse then that, after a day we could see their urine and poos on the floor and it started to smell bad. We were lucky we booked only 2 nights. Also, even though it was advertised with free wifi, the internet was not working for us during the entire stay.
The atmosphere was calm and tranquil. The always unbeatable Asian hospitality.
Everything was fine
very nice and quiet setting, rice paddies just in front, local shops, bikes, tours and restaurants 5-10 mins walk, literally in the middle of Ubud but without the hassle of the main street
Very good rice field view and the decoration of this Villa are very good. The hotel is near the center of town and not far away from Monkey Forest.
Hot water only supplies in limited time.
+ Located in quiet street, but very close to the city center (2 min. Walk) + Close to Monkey Forest, Royal Palaca, Temples, etc. + Cheap minibar + Friendly personnel + Good location for nature and culture lovers
- Pool is small and right in front of one of the bungalows - Fence between bungalows and rice paddies - Breakfast (but I haven't seen any place in Bali that does have a good breakfast)
Location is perfect, you look out on Paddy fields and only hear frogs, no traffic, but are actually only a few hundred metres from central Ubud. Rooms are large, well equipped and spotless, staff are charming and helpful, you can pay two or three times as much for much less, this place is both very good, and cheap, so isngreat value.. Our 'tips' are to take the first left turn after the Lotus Temple (worth a visit and you cannot miss it as you walk into town) and just keep walking and walking as you get more and more rewarded with great Paddy field views. To eat, Miro's Garden is at the end of the road cannot be seen from the road, but stroll inside and you'll find a beautiful Balinese Garden Restaurant. Not cheap, but lovely. In town for something different try 'Clear', SoHo or Greenwich Village ny style fuses with Bali, gorgeous fit out, great food, the 'Raw' desserts are great, they sound like 'health food' but taste pretty sinful ;-) For the budget end some of the small restaurants you find on the before mentioned walk to the Paddy fields are great local food at bargain prices. His is all easy strolling distance from Chempaka, as indeed is all of Ubiud.
They supposedly take cards but the machine didn't work, "bad connection" apparently, but it seemed to be a land line, and it seems to be a recurrent issue, so that was odd. Not an issue as long as you carry enough cash with you! Don't let that put you off, the place is both good and good value. I checked taxi prices for the airport at several offices (within a couple of hundred metres) and the reception staff quoted a 50% mark up. But when I said I would just book at the office down the road they matched the price.
Vllla Chempaka was quiet and relaxed. The staff were very helpful and friendly and it is very close to the centre of Ubud.
Staffs are very nice.
Facilities looked old. The clock in the room was out of order. For this price, you could have a better choice.
Location walking distance to shops and country side.
